Radiology

Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses different imaging technologies such as x-rays, MRI and CT scans, to investigate and diagnose the possible causes of a person’s symptoms or disease.

X-rays were discovered in 1895 by German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen (1845–1923). For his discovery, Roentgen became the first recipient of the Noble prize in physics in 1901. X-rays, which revolutionized the science of medicine, allowed physicians for the first time to see inside the body without performing an invasive procedure.
